This year we are proud to be celebrating the

75th anniversary year of St Teresa's School!

"Inspiring and achieving together, using our unique gifts given to us by God"

Welcome to St Teresa’s

Remote teaching at St Teresa's!

Throughout lock down, our teachers have been working incredibly hard to continue to provide the high standard of teaching that our pupils and parents expect.

There has been a combination of online and offline activities set, pre-prepared videos, interaction and feedback from teacher to pupil through Purple Mash blogs, one to one sessions for those children needing some extra support and 'live' sessions through Microsoft Teams. The children's work has been celebrated through virtual display boards. The Head Teachers have been continuing to run assemblies, with all our usual rewards for excellent work and attitude to learning for pupils,  alongside dipping into the 'live' sessions and providing daily story times and riddles for the pupils. Our well-being blog provides a place for support for children finding life a little trickier, in these difficult times.

To give you a flavour of what we have been continuing to provide, please click on the links below.

Mrs Aggett's art lesson with Mrs Aldus

Pre-School music lesson with Mrs Adams

Our music teacher has coordinated a whole school composition - a fantastic piece that children throughout the school 'remotely' contributed to!

And our parents think...

"The teachers have been phenomenal. Their lesson videos are brilliantly engaging and keep all the familiar elements that the children know and love from school – they do their daily prayers (which mine always join in with totally unprompted!), they make jokes, they tell children to pause the video and work things out, they encourage and they explain things very simply and carefully and set out exactly what needs to be done. The Purple Mash platform, although it took a while to get used to, is actually really great at being able to share work files and blog the teachers. They must all be working so hard to look after all the children whilst also juggling having their own children at home etc. French, music, art and PE as extras have all been beyond wonderful too – the boys love seeing Madame, Mrs Aldus, Mrs Adams and Mr Meakin, and they have been joining in with it all. And then there’s all the extras – assemblies, weekly interactive sessions, story time, riddles etc etc. I think you’ve all done amazingly well and I can’t thank you enough. Truly."

"The standard of online teaching has been exemplary in these uncertain times. Our children, in very different year groups, have been engaged, encouraged, enthused and proactively supported. As parents we have been not only impressed, but our expectations of remote learning have been exceeded. Congratulations to St Teresa’s in testing times."

For latest information on Coronavirus, including advice on how to talk to your children about the pandemic, go to 'Information & Documents' section on our website.

In our recent parent survey (November 2019) 100% of our parents said that their "child likes school"; that "the school has a loving Catholic ethos"; "the school is well led and managed" and that "the school promotes an environment which successfully supports my child's personal development".

Based on our survey, 100% of our parents would recommend St Teresa's to other parents

"It is a wonderful school and the best decision we ever made for the education of our children"

St Teresa's is  a place in which everyone has a genuine pride, with values that all hold dear - manners, tolerance, understanding, stewardship, mutual respect and self-esteem.  We believe happiness, and a genuine love of books from an early age, are essential starting points for confident, enquiring minds to develop an enthusiasm for life and learning.

There is no 'cookie cutter' approach at St Teresa's.  Instead, individuality, independence and confidence are both encouraged and celebrated.  As a result, boys and girls at every stage are capable of holding conversations and expressing their own thoughts and ideas.  As well as academic success, we're confident that every St Teresa's child leaves us understanding the bigger picture.  They value friendship, the spirit of community and will make their mark on modern Britain and beyond.

St Teresa's is renowned for its sense of family and excellent pastoral care.  We welcome children and families of any faith, or indeed none.  With a Catholic foundation, our mission is to provide a Christian education in which sensitivity and empathy for others, a knowledge and respect for other faiths, Gospel values and worship are central to school life.  We are a caring community which strives to enable each person to realise their full potential and helps each child to develop their God-given gifts and talents.

Our website will give you a glimpse of life within our school, but we would be delighted to tell you more or answer any questions.  When you visit our school we are sure you will see the happy, busy, working environment and the enthusiastic participation of our children.

We look forward to meeting you at one of our forthcoming School Tours or call the school office to make a visit at a time that suits you.

Following the Government's announcement, St Teresa's is now open for pupils in Pre-School (phased return) and our Reception, Year One and Year Six Classes.

We are also welcoming children back from all our other year groups, over the next two weeks.
